This exquisite and unusual piece depicts a pair of regal-looking storks with serpents coiled in their beaks. The storks' power to destroy the venemous snakes originates in the story of Greek Goddess Hera and is said symbolise felicity and fortune for the owner. The design is a survivor of antiquity, being a close copy of a Roman urn which was, in turn, based on an ancient Greek original.

Standing at around 3 feet tall on its base and masterfully carved in Portland stone: this piece would make a commanding focal point for either a garden or grand interior space.
